Since no one started the thread I thought is a good idea for me to do it:vs_smirk:

So,what's new with you all?I'm still working on that oil painting-again probably I'll finish it in a couple of weeks-am glazing after glazing and it's starting to look amazing.Hope I won't ruin it(but again comparing to acrylics is hard to do a mistake and then not be able to undue it)lol.Therry gave me an idea about ebay but I see the prices are so low there...the site has been completely hijaked by chinese(no offense sry) but there are pages after pages of paintings under 5$. How do you sell/if you sell?

I can't imagine how these companies that sell the Chinese paintings make any profit. I don't understand it.

I can't wait to see your oil painting. I'm betting it will be fantastic.

Well I don't know the quality or the size of those "paintings". I remember I ordered once a very cheap "purse" ($5) from China on amazon...and when it came, after 4 weeks, it was about 2 inches long:vs_blush::vs_blush:(probably would fit a Barbie doll)-but in the photo on amazon it looked normal size and was advertised normal purse (actually big) size.. So...I dunno, there might be scams also and I don't know if they really sell what they advertise(I mean some of the works look so AMAZING they should charge thousands). Some times I get depressed when I see some gorgeous paintings sold under $10...for me at least it's very frustrating.

The reason things from China are so cheap is called forced labor. Children and prisoners are forced under threat to themselves and/or family. Very sad really.

One thing I've noticed with some of these Ebay and Etsy posting from Chineese painters is that it says "Original painting, 9 available" or how ever many. How can you have an Original and have multiples? What they must be doing is having several people paint the same picture. These paintings are also 'unsigned'. That tells me they can't post the artist because there are several different ones. The paints are mailed off the frame which means the buyer needs to get or make a frame and stretch the canvas over it and staple it on. Also the shipping costs from China must be high. Personally I would not want one of these for free.

Well I dunno if the shipping is that expensive-for ex I ordered some things from India(really nice dresses) which were kinda expensive btw,and they came by air in 2 days ...anyway I think I paid like 10$ shipping.Maybe Susan is right and those Chinese artists are forced to work for nothing like slaves?Well to put it that way- they ruin the market for real artists...
