I'm having a pop up gallery open very close to a museum that a curator works that has contacted me a few times in the past. I have talked to her and she wants a showing before the open. I'm known as a folk potter. It's been very hard to get my sculptures into gallery’s and this will be the first gallery for my sculptures.

I'm planning on taking around 3,000 true art folk are pieces so I have plenty of back stock for the 5 day show. I was planning on taking 9 sculptures and putting them all out at the beginning. I'm wounder how people are going to react to such different work?

Without seeing them its kinda hard to respond, ya know? I will say that sometimes different is what they want. But people shy away from the really strange. Much depends on where you're at too... Country folk are very basic & unimaginative. Cost too will matter, especially at Christmas. Very hard to sell expensive artwork that would take the money used to buy electronic gizmos & toys.

The gallery open is going to be the first of the year and last for 5 days. It's going to be held in a larger city, but still close to the country. I have a high end sponsors and the first day of the open is invitation only to a bunch of higher up white collars.

The majority of what I we sell “moonshine jugs”, crocks (storage container with lid), fermentation crocks, face jugs, and urns. Sometimes I do luminaries, mail organizer/holders, and other odds and ends.

I have been at 2 galleries in near by tourists town traps for the last 5 years. They only want to display face jugs, moonshine jugs, crocks. They both sell around 3,000 items a year.

I will try to get some pics of my work from my kid.
