Okay, I've gone over the penciled drawing with ink, but am clueless on what I should do next.
Should I just add nuances with the pen? Maybe add some watercolor, which I'm still a novice at.
I just don't know!!!

A watercolor wash over the ink would look awesome!

Okay, David, I'm watercolor dumb, just one color, or multiple colors, and I'm assuming that means having the colors pretty diluted?

Monochrome is interesting.. and makes you learn about Value.. I have done entire pieces with a Blue (Prussian or Ultramarine both work nicely)

But this is such a wonderful piece.. if I were panting it.. I would do it in color.. 2 or 3 light washes.. Basically it won't be too hard.. just do your background first.. Your horizon line is well defined.. so do the sky a shade of Blue (Maybe Cerulean and Ultramarine) And your grass line a soft dull green. Cut in around all of the objects. Do a single wash.. about the consistency of milk. LET it dry THOROUGHLY before you continue.

Then go back in and color in the objects.. Don't forget your light source and shading.. One or two light washes will get the job done. Just color in the lines.. like in a coloring book :)

Whatever you choose I know it will be wonderful.. as the base picture is already awesome!

Oh boy, you just made my head explode David. May have to get on YouTube and watch a couple of of videos before I actually pick up a brush.
I've really only done the watercolor pencils, and just played a little with my watercolors...nothing even near professional.

Thank you so much!!! :) ;)

Tidbit: Be sure your ink is waterproof! Otherwise, smudge city. Also, your paper needs to stand up to lotsa water or it'll get kinda bent out of shape. Test on a scrap.

Can try the ink crayons or ink pencils. Very nice technique.

This may sound odd but, I love the leaves! It's with these small leaves, I think, that demonstrate perfectly how good your hand is. A deft touch. Wonderful.
