Don't normally use charcoal since I can never sharpen them enough to my liking. However, this burnt orange is just so great for portraying flesh.

Strongly recommend!

Nice work.. If you haven't already.. Try a Conte Crayon.. very similar color and effect... I think you will like them

I much prefer graphite but I will certainly make sure to try out Conte Crayons! thanks!

Although it's called that.. it's not a crayon in the traditional sense of the word. More like a colored graphite pencil (Mine actually came in my Graphite set)

I'm sure that's not true. You're very talented! You should have seen my sketches from this time last year. Horrible.

I have used it along with a few other charcoals and watercolors to obtain the flesh tones in my avatar and some other pictures in my color album.
