I am hoping to do a lot on my paintings today. These paintings are being stretched out over days. Use to be I would do a painting in one day, but that was when I was using acrylic and it would dry in less than hour. The actual time I spend painting is minimal, probably less than an hour a day, but then I wait at least a day for it to dry. Still I don't want to change back to acrylics. I love the vibrant colors of oils and I truly can see a difference in what I am able to do with them.

I wish there were more oil painters on the forum.

Today I start Physical Therapy ....bah humbug.

Well you all have a great day and look forward to chatting and viewing everyones work.

Good morning, working until 1:30 today then hoping to get more done on my eagle. Can't believe how long he is taking but I am being more careful with details and he is by far my largest piece.

Praying everyone has a blessed day! :)

What is the size of the piece Susan?

I don't remember seeing a WIP on him...or am I forgetting...sometimes I think dementia is setting in I forget so much.

Anyway looking forward to seeing it.

I see you are an early bird like me. I find peaceful mornings the best time of the day.

I am an unusual creature, a night owl AND a morning person, I don't do well on a lot of sleep.

The eagle is my "At It Again" thread. He is not large to most, he's 12x14 ish, but he is the largest I have tackled so far. My penguin was on the same sized pad but he is just the penguin (no background) and just graphite. Topper and the humming bird were done in my 5x7 sketchbook. This guy will finish at almost the full page. My hand is actually cramping! That's what I get for taking 30 years off! :)

OK -- DUH! When you said Eagle I was thinking the traditional American type Eagle not the Philippine Eagle that you are doing.

I find that 11x14 is my favorite canvas to work on. The two that I'm now doing are 16x20 and that's what I use to do all the time, but I definitely favor the smaller canvases to work on.

I really like working 11x14 size pieces. I find it's not too big and overwhelming but not too small either..and easy to frame and a good size for most walls.

Really liking the eagle Susan. You are doing a great job.

You too with your cabin Terry. You have a fantastic way with scenery. I really don't like to do scenery at all. I find it tedious and boring to do. You just knock it out of the park every time.

Not much on my agenda today. Hopefully do my touchups and then that's about it. Wait to see if the person who asked me to do it wants me to do anything else.

I don't have anything else planned and not sure I will have time to start a new one. My son has vacation bible school next week so any new drawing will have to be the week after that I think.

Thanks Chanda. I'm not thrilled with the grass in this picture and plan to work on it more. There's a lot I need to work on more, but one thing with painting it's easy to ruin the painting by over working it. The more paint you put on the more it turns into a big blur. But learning that balance is what I'm aiming for and will never get there unless I keep trying.

Hope your grandson feels better soon. Have fun on your son's birthday. My step grandson turned 13 last November, it is hard age for kids, especially boys.

Worked on the drawing some more. I didn't have the mouth right and I still don't have the mouth right and I am mad at it and am putting it up. If this wasn't for someone I would have left it but it's her daughter and things like mouth shape kind of mean something. I HATE portraits. I have got to stop agreeing to do them..

I have all the faith in the world that you will get exactly as it should be Chanda. You are a perfectionist and would never settle for anything less than perfect.
