One thing (but not the only thing) that I love about this Artistforum is how on the first page the pictures in people's albums are shown and to see more all you have to do is refresh the page. It makes it so easy to spot an Artist that you really like their work and click on it an browse their albums.

For all it's technical difficulties this is still a really good forum to be a part of....best of all the people here are the greatest.

Yes those have always been the things I love about this site...the pictures and the people. It is certainly one of the most down to earth art sites I have been a part of and absolutely my most favorite of them all!

You got that right. So many sites I've been on -- no matter what the subject is -- people feel they have to 'prove' themselves. Make themselves to be more than they are and run you down in the process. Here it is kind of like take me as I am or leave me alone, I have nothing to prove except to myself. At least that's the way I feel it is. And the encouragement given in this site is so very nice to feel. It seems like the world wants to bring us down all the time, here we get restored.

An artist that tries to "prove themselves" is insecure at best.. Sure.. we all want someone to say our work is good.. But in reality, that's not what it should be about (IMO). I draw for fun, for meditative purposes, and to bring joy to others.. If my work can do that.. I have done well.

Drawing literally started, and still is, therapy for me.
I'm just glad to have the opportunity to share with, and learn from, like minded people. :)

I came hear mostly to learn from others. If I show my works to my husband and friends (non artists), they all go, "Ooh" and, "Aah" and, "That's fantastic!" Whilst it's nice to hear, it does not help me to better my talent.

I bring my pictures here and you all are like, "Great job, lose the lines", That is what I need! Even though my art is for myself, my own enjoyment, I want to learn and improve.

Yup. I think we all have areas of our work we can improve. It may not sit well at first but once you sit back and stew on it you realize..hey..yup..I screwed up there now I can fix it or apply that lesson learned to another drawing.

I know that I appreciate having all of you here. I have learned so much from even those of you just starting out or picking it back up again..why? Because you guys ask questions I guess I never would have thought of asking. Your thirst for knowledge benefits us all so keep it up!
