Thank you, I am not that good! when I finished this piece I was actually kinda disappointed. A few proportion issues, layering the colors in the fur didn't turn out as well as I wanted, and took too long haha

Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words!

We always tend to be our own worse critics.

Looks like Taylor Swift has come on the radio, he's hoping no one can hear his guilty pleasure. :)

Great drawing, looking forward to seeing more. :)

Thanks! I have trouble doing the same with people. Dogs are so much easier to draw haha

Try drawing a person upside down Jaor... I bet you'll do better :)

Yeah, I always try to draw at different angles

Upside down? What is that about? I can't imagine.

try flipping one of your art pieces upside down and the photo. Sometimes they will look completely different, this is when you know your drawing isn't right even though it may look correct right side up. I think it is more effective with faces. Once you turn it upside down and draw it like that, your mind thinks more about shapes instead of: this is an eye, this is the nose, etc. It just helps break things down

Great hint. I'm going to have to try that on my next portrait of one of my grandkids.

It helps Terry because it forces you to draw what you see.. not what you think you see. Many people think that the eyes are in the forehead.. that's natural.. so most people draw them too high.. turn the source photo over and draw exclusively from there.. you will never place eyes too high again :)

Same with noses too long, mouths too wide.. ears to low.. etc etc etc LOL!
