I've been thinking about taking some online art classes and was wondering if anyone has done that and what they thought about them. I was looking at one (a 4 week class) at Artist Network University.

I have never taken any online art courses to be honest..but if it's affordable I don't see what it would hurt. Another suggestion, if you haven't already done it, is to see what your local gallery or college (if you are near one) offers. Our local community college gives you the option to audit courses at a reduced cost..the local gallery sometimes offers free art classes..and even (I know this sounds strange) the local community center for elderly people will offer art classes. When I was a teenager in high school I went to the community center to participate in drawing classes. I was the only person under the age of 65 there but I did learn a lot about the human form and drawing it.

I have taken online courses before and REALLY like the format of distance education that way..if it is done correctly. Have always wondered how an online art class would be done so if you decide to do it update us please!

LOL LOL -- Believe me at 66 going to a senior center doesn't sound strange at all to me.

Our Senior center does some art craft workshops now and then but nothing that you would call art classes. I could go to one of the traditional college classes I guess but for some reason it doesn't sound like something I want to do. Living in rural Arkansas nothing is close by.

I think I just might take one of those online courses. They range from about $100 to $180 and they are 4 week courses. The one I'm considering is $164.99.

I know that I want to get better, and I am with each picture, but this might be a way to accelerate the process. Hey Grandma Moses started painting at 70, I'm 4 years younger!
