New here, My name is Steve and am taking an interest in Art having spent my whole life in the science/maths/logic fields. I've ignored Art completely in the belief that I don't have an artistic bone in my body. So far, so good - very interesting, very absorbing! http://www.artforums.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif Trying my hand at sketching to begin with - not a lot of promise yet, but having fun nonetheless. http://www.artforums.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Hi Steve. Welcome. I had a career in computer science and I taught math and science for twelve years. I'm also an avid chess player. There's creativity as well as logic in these. Don't overlook the logic in art.

Are you really me? LOL. I'm a long-term chess player too (rated around 1900 at the moment.)

No I am not you lol. I'm not playing my lifetime best which was in the low 2100's. I fell to an A level player in my early 40's and have not played in tournaments since. I'm in my mid fifties now. My father passed away fifteen years ago he had a career high of 2338. His final rating was 2120. We had some great games that were artistic.
