Question Feedback - please

Please, can you review this - I feel proud of it for my first attempt?

That's amazingly creative. Hard to believe it's your first attempt.. keep up the great work and you will soon be selling your art.

Is this inspired by Escher? Was there a purpose behind making this piece? Why did you choose these colors and shapes? What about your first attempt makes you feel proud?

There is not much to review. Since it is not a work based on realistic figural representation, it cannot be "corrected" in comparison to reference. It isn't floral either so the same approach applies. It is somewhat abstract and that leaves us with the question: Why?

It is simple and basic, the colors look dull, the shapes are uninteresting. This is definitely a better start than most, but I think if you spend a bit more time than you did on this (whatever that time may be), then you could produce something more substantial.

Overall review: I would not frame this or display it in my home or gallery. Perhaps after really grinding down, you will make something worth seriously observing and reviewing. Keep at it and wow us, hoepfully soon.

Narrated 'Ubaada bin As-Saamit رضى الله عنه: I heard Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, "The first thing created by Allah was the pen. He said to it, 'Write!' It said, 'O Lord! What should I write?' Allah Said, 'Write down the destiny of every thing until the Final Hour (as per my Will).'" [Ahmad]

I designed a logo for work, they were running a public campaign about the abuse the emergency services have to suffer at the hand of the public, especially when alcohol is involved.

The colour represents the emergency services:

Red - Fire Brigade - also a warning (hence the triangle)
Blud - Police
Green - Ambulance.

I was proud of this because it looked just like I wanted it to.

I'm a 999 Call Handler, taking such abuse from the public.

I hope this clarifies my thinking behind this drawing.

The piece is a logo? In this case, referring back to your other post, applying digital mediums would be highly beneficial.

I understand the the symbolism now, are they common in the UK (where I am assuming you are from)?

Achieving your vision is indeed something to be proud of. Many often fail to achieve this goal.

Yes, the piece makes more sense now. This is more of logo design than a traditional work of art.
