Daily Chat - September 18, 2015

Good morning all you wonderful artists.

It's Friday again...seems like that happens every week. Hope everyone gets the opportunity to work on his/her art this weekend.

Painting goes so much faster than drawing. I guess if I got down to the detail that you graphite/pastel/ink artists do it would take me a lot longer to do a picture. Truth is I'm not capable of it so I am in awe of what you folks are able to do. That portrait I did of Jerry and Pat took a long time, a couple of weeks. By the time I was done I was really tired of working on it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the changes to the forum Cricket.

Luna you have me hooked on your comic strips. I love Pancake and Bacon.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's day.

You are able to do it Terry. I think it's lot harder in painting, cuz in pencil a darker o brighter shadow just depends in pressing harder or softer, while you must mix colors to get the perfect tone, and then paint. Dunno :P
But I do think you can do it, you said it, Jerry and Pat painting, a great example.

Hmm as for me? I should re-do my last drawing. I posted the updated yesterday, and I like the shadowing I got but his face... I must change it! It's not right, it's not sharing something I really want to show with the drawing so I won't be happy until you people say me "OOhh, I think he is bla bla bla bla blaaaaaaa" xD

Happy Friday!

Good morning..

Just an "eh" day for me. I picked up some birthday presents for the kid..gave the drawing to the person who commissioned it..going to see what the rest of the day holds.

Kind of irked at the people on another web-site. I basically got told that their drawing was better and that they worked harder on it and that mine won the dumb little competition based on emotion and not on quality. Eyeroll..poor sport. It's not for money..in the long run nobody really cares. I lost lots of competition to people that I don't necessarily agree with..some I do..so what? I have been on that web-site less than a week and have already been attacked by two people for the quality of my work. jealous and petty and I am thinking of leaving. No need for that in my opinion. Give me constructive criticism but don't sit there and talk out of your butt about how little you think I worked on a drawing.

I almost forgot it was Friday lol And what time it was. I've been emerged in a cat portrait I started this morning for the mother in law but I think I'm scraping it now and starting again, it just didn't turn out the way I wanted. Time I got the furries and family fed anyway.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yup sounds like big time jealousy to me. People run into jerks everywhere.

Sounds like a fun site Chanda! Just drop them, no one needs that kind of abuse.

Grateful to Jesus for everything!

Yeah. I think I am going to. There are vindictive and petty people on that site. People get mad if they lose silly fights and at least one judge has made it known he doesn't like my work because he votes my work as being inferior regardless of who its against. Not that I care but it is crappy on his part. I try to judge a work based on the quality of the piece..not who drew it. Eh. I am soon to delete all photos and myself from the site. It isn't for me. Not a fan of nasty people.
