Daily Chat - January 13, 2016

Hi,

How is everyone today? I'm good, did some shopping and have been tweeting about my art for sale. More of a promotion day as opposed to a creating day.

Sometimes life is good and you take advantage of it. Strike while the irons hot and stuff like that. 4 more years til retirement and I won't be able to afford a thing.

Butterfly tell us about your art sale. I don't get onto twitter.

Dick you may be happily surprised that you are better off financially than you expect once you retire. My expenses were cut significantly once I stopped working and the net was a more comfortable money flow.

My paintings havenít been selling on Etsy, so I just started selling on ArtiSouls and ArtFire to try to mix thing up a bit. Artfire tweeted my shop link to their 5,000 followers and Abstract Art News featured one of my paintings on their website and twitter. Plus people have been favoriting my paintings and Iím up to 77 twitter followers in about 4 days. Iím honored, hoping people start buying soon.

If anyone is interested:

Wow that's cool. I'm going to look into it. I need to find out about twitter. I've never used it or instagram.

I'm not happy with Etsy either. I sold something for $42 and they charged me $2.10 for sellers fee(?) and $1.54 for direct charge(?) and it was my Paypal account that was used so there was an additional Paypal fee. All in all it ate up about 10% of the profit. I offered free shipping (mistake) and since this was a 18x24 piece the cost was $17.80. So I only made about $20 after all of that. Won't do it again. I had no problems like that using Ebay.

Fees on Artisouls are only 3% of closing if the item sells. No fee if the item doesn't sell. Artfire is a bit more expensive.
