Daily Chat April 22

Good morning all.

Surviving here. I spent yesterday afternoon ripping out carpet and nails..patching concrete and staining baseboards. I also got some funky stomach bug last night so didn't get much sleep.

Back at work today..I guess I am resigned to my drawing time being only here at work. I took it home yesterday but didn't even touch it. Hopefully today at lunch I will get some more done on it.

Terry..WONDERFUL job on William the Goat. It is a fun fun painting and you did a great job..love the work on the horns.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Chanda and everyone. I've been working a lot on the tiger I started. I think I'm going to call this one "Momma Tiger". My heart is really going into this one. For some reason I love the mean expression, the "I'm going to attack" look. I think there must be a part of me that I don't know about it. I've got it on the canvas using red pastel and red pencil. I have learned that using graphite or carbon pencil is hard to paint over sometimes. I'm committed to take a lot of time and make this as detailed and the best I can do.

Chanda and everyone you have no idea how much I appreciate the praise you have given me on my last two pictures. Getting praise from other artists is worth a hundred times more to me than getting praise from a relative or good friend that just might be placating me. I want so much to get better at my paintings.

Well you have certainly earned the praise Terry and I can see that you are growing and improving with each and every painting. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is maybe some shadows under William and the little bush..that would give it a tad more depth. No matter I still love the painting and think you did a really good job.

I look forward to your Momma Tiger. I know you will do well with it.

I'm guessing you are meaning ground shadows, yeah that makes sense, I'll put it on my list and get to it later today.

I added some blue to his white fur in front on the legs. I did that last night after looking at it for awhile but didn't want to put up another picture in my album. I feel like I'm hogging the pictures on the first page some times. I also did some touching up on the Artic Mountain, same thing about the picture -- didn't want to hog the first page so haven't uploaded it. Here's a picture of the Mountain as it now is. I'll work more on William tonight.

Yes, ground shadows..just to give it more of a three dimensional look. I do commend you for even tackling that particular picture because the angle of it can be rather tricky. You handled it well.

Your mountain is super nice. I love the color choices you used and you absolutely got the "cold" feeling to show. brr.
