Any Veterans Out There?

On this Memorial day I would like to say thank you to any veterans and/or their families. I thoroughly appreciate what you all have done for this wonderful country of ours and for me personally.

God bless our veterans! God bless America!

I too honor all the brave men and women that have served to make this country safe.

My husband is retired Army. He actually was in both the Navy and the Army. First the Navy for 10 years, then he left the Navy and joined the Army and put in another 10 years in the National Guard.

My son Jason was also in the Army. He passed away 4 years ago unrelated to military service.

Being in the military is truly a family affair, it isn't just the man or women serving, the whole family is serving in some way, so I honor the families too.

Me personally? No. I have a sister who served..a brother in law who served in the gulf war..a father in law who served in vietnam..a grandfather who served in Germany in WWII..another grandfather who served in WWII and a grandfather in law (who is still alive btw) who is a bataan death march POW survivor.

Have a lot of military history in my family and I am proud of them all.

Day late and a dollar short...that's me! Hubby is a Disabled veteran. Medically retired from the Air Force in 2008. My dad was Army Air Corp (now the Air force) in WWII.

As a footnote, I have a brother retired from the Air Force and a husband who spent time in the Navy, my grandfather was a colonel in the Army in WWII.

Sounds like we all have Men and Women to be proud of. I find it both gratifying that our beloved relatives have made such a large contribution to this nation's well being, yet it also is so sad that humans are such a warring species of animal. Wish we were more like Banobos than Chimpanzee's and make love not war.
