Mullanphy Wow, that little sketch book is almost as fantastic as the work inside!

I've given calligraphy a try, so know it's not an easy art to master. Like so many other artistic endeavors, though, it is also not easy to make a living with just one's art. BUT, it can be done!

An example of a successful calligrapher in the US is the White House Chief Calligrapher, Patricia Blair, whose salary is over $100,000.00 annually. (Lordy, how I love Google - it makes me look so smart )

Cooper88 Yup, you can make a living with arts. There is an artist, vince low who has dyslexia and he only make living by scribbling into his artwork. And it is amazing. https://vincelow.com.my/

copperreflections Hi Florine,
I love your work as well. There are so many art shows and many ways to also sell your artwork online.
Good Luck

LizaPaizisCreations Hello Florine!

Your work is very beautiful, and I think it is definitely commercially viable, and you could make a business from it.

I've been a self-employed artist since I was 16 years, and the best advice I could give you is to be absolutely passionate about what you do, because people will respond to that and your work will be successful.
Having said that, it is necessary to find a market for your work, and I wonder if you have looked into Etsy to sell online? Customers love to buy personalised things, and your calligraphy would be perfect for that! You could design personalised wedding invitation, birthday cards, engagement notices etc.. try browsing Etsy for artists who are doing similar calligraphy as you to get some ideas.

All the Best!

Lucian Hodoboc Of course it's not too late. You can definitely make a living as a full-time calligrapher. You are talented, as I'm sure you have been told before. Follow your dream and may God bless you!
