Rrr I see what you mean. For me personally I just want to be able to draw someone as fast as possible while still being accurate enough to get a good likeness. Its not that I dont have the patience to go over the entire process of drawing slowly but I firmly believe in the power of repetition, in essence to improve hand-eye coördination but also to train the short-term memory as fast as possible.

dickhutchings I like the scribble approach. I've found it to be the only way to draw with my shaky hands. Scribble away.

No clean lines here, and with the glasses somewhat to high up on the nose, but with a good likeness.

Hb pencil on A3 80gr copier paper
