This place seems really friendly
Hi all,
I had a look around before making my account and you guys seem to be very easy going and incredibly helpful to each other. Hopefully my time here will prove to be an insightful one.
I fell in love with soft pastels whilst I was still in school but I never took it further. Now after 10 years I have the time and motivation to settle down and being my journey as a pastel artist.
I started this week and tried to do a pastel painting a day. Below is one I have just completed today. Feel free to comment, would be greatly appreciated.
I am also in the process experimenting with different types of pastels, at the moment I am using a set from my school ( yes I still have it all this time haha) and I just recently bought a small pack of rembrandt pastels to try it out. I have to say I am looking forward to trying out unison pastels because of its buttery texture that I am hoping would suit my style.

Congratulation, this one is a really nice work. I think you have great potetials in you.
I am brave enough for notice one think (meanwhile I am not a nativ English speaker), there is a significant difference between "pastel painting" and pastel drawing. Because both are possible with both kind of pastel (pulver and oil). And looking to your picture I thinkyou did draw this. :-)
