New Members should know

Welcome all new members to the Artistforum. I look forward to viewing your art and hope you enjoy the forum. Artist here range from beginner hobbyists (me) to really magnificent artists. If you need help navigating the web site be sure to ask. Click on my name and post a message.

To load pictures to your albums:
>Create an album. Click on "user CP" (above left on the menu line) and select "Picture and Album"

To include a picture in a post there are two ways:
1. Use the "manage attachment" field at the bottom of the screen when entering a post. This will put the picture up as a thumbnail in the post which can be expanded by right clicking and pressing open link. -- Note you will not see the picture while writing the post, but it will show once it is saved.
2. Use the picture icon (the square over the write box with the mountain scene). This will include the picture but it will not be a thumbnail. Some members prefer this method.

Little green rectangles

To post a 'thread' (a new subject under a category) go into that category, for example "introductions" and click on the little (very little) green rectangle that says "New Thread" that is on the top left of the threads. I'm telling you because it took me forever to first find it when I joined.

To post a reply to something look for the 'post reply' little green square under the post. You can also use the 'quote' little green square which will quote the statement that you are replying to and you can write your reply to it directly under it.

This site really isn't hard once you are use to it. But it can be very frustrating until you get use to it.

We can't allow advertising on this forum. There are paid sponsors that have ads at the bottom of the Artist Forum page and it would not be fair to those that pay to keep this forum up and running to allow members to advertise their businesses. Members are allowed to put a web site link in there signature when setting up their profile.

Adult Only Pictures

The “Life Drawing” forum is for pictures that would not be appropriate for young children such as graphically violent or nude statues, artwork or photography. We ask that you do not put those pictures in your personal Artist Forum album because the album pictures are displayed on the Home page of the web site. We ask that you either add your pictures as an attachment to your thread or you can use an outside source of your choice.

No pornography or propaganda will be allowed on the ArtistForum anywhere. For this forum nude statues or pictures that are a piece of art are not considered pornography.

Happy Posting! We look forward to what you share with us in here.

Help to everyone. My name is William and I live in Ohio. I’m interested in this forum to continue my journey in art that was set aside while family responsibilities took precedence (the typical story for many I assume). Now that I am devoting my time to my artwork, I wish to continue to learn and grow in skill, experience and the adventure of sharing with all of you. Looking forward to utilizing the information presented here, viewing your own artwork, and seeking thoughtful criticism of my own.

Welcome William! This is probably not the best place to post this. That's OK but Terry Curley doesn't even show up anymore and I'm not sure why. I'll see if I can move this.

Can't move it. No big deal. You could reintroduce yourself by posting a new thread directly under "New Member Introductions", if you care to.

Wowza! I love it, but then, I'm a sucker for a snow scene.
