Great start. May I suggest that you keep the paper on the pad and clip the open end to the clip. Why do you tape the individual sheet to the board?

Thank you for the compliment.

I don't know why I use the paper on the board, never gave it much thought. I know I like the hard background so that is how I did it.

Not sure I understand the "clip the open end to the clip", could you please explain or maybe a visual? I am always willing to try suggestions.

If you like the hard surface of the board, then I suppose that you should remove the page from the pad. I find that the hard surface makes drawing more difficult.

What I meant by "clip the open end to the clip" was taking your pad with it opened up to the page that you are going to draw on. Then you clip the open end of the pad to the board by using the clip I see on your board.

You certainly have a knack for birds. I love the coloring of the beaks and little hints of color in the feathers.
