Question for ya'll woodburning guru's...

My husband just bought me a woodburning kit for my birthday along with a few wood pieces to practice on. They are made of pine.

I was just curious for ya'll woodburning guru's (ahem kcortese) what types of wood you find to be the best for woodburning.

I'd love any other advice with regard to woodburning as I am about to jump into this completely unprepared.

Oooo, what a great birthday present! I hope you'll share your first creation with us.

I know you can woodburn on dried gourds ... I think wallnut is a good wood to burn on, if I remember correctly.
