Added a bit more to him, Iíve also decided that I donít like the paper as Iím finding that I have to burnish the colour to get it solid. I think next time Iíll try a watercolour base layer and then add the detail with the pencils, has anyone tried that?

Looking good, you might try a smoother surface paper, if you are having trouble making solid areas. I like Strathmore Bristol Vellum or Canson Bristol XL 96lb, this one has a smooth side and a light textured side.

Anyone who cares about art must see "The Art of the Steal' how the city of Philly stole the $25 Billion (yes Billion)Barnes private art collection.

I like it !

A water colour base does help , and quite a few people do that.

Have you tried sanded paper , such as This ?
