Artists who famously can't draw/paint the opposite gender

An art student once showed me some fascinating examples of how some artists/painters were not good at drawing a person of both genders, like a man would have difficulty in drawing/painting, say a woman, without them always looking like men / having masculine features (particularly in the faces), and vice-versa for some female artists when trying to draw/paint men. (It could have not necessarily been the opposite gender).

It was apparently quite common and they showed me some examples of specific famous artists / painters who exhibited this in their work, but I can't recall the names.

Does anyone know about this phenomenon or recall of some artists that are known for this? Is there a proper expression or word for this.

Thank you!

I don't know if theres a proper expression for it, but if one suffered from it, I would really recommend that they try drawing people nude live under constructive critique.

When someone starts drawing features that aren't there, then they need to re-focus and get back to basics.
It can be very challenging drawing what you see VS what you think you see!
