What's it worth anyway?

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum and was hoping someone could clue me in to what this piece I have is worth. It was given to me by my dad, who bought it from Bill Mack, the artist. It has a personalized signature on the back made out to him and his daughter. He bought it for around $4k in 1988, when it was created. It's a bonded bronze relief of a woman. It's in great condition, with only a tiny blemish, about half the size of a pea and a small scuff that will buff out. The frame measures 43" W and 50" H. It's light enough to hang on a wall or move by yourself. We're not sure where to hang it in our home, and if it will fetch a good price on the market, it would definitely help us pay off this renovation bill we racked up. I know I should get it professionally appraised, but have no idea what that would cost either. Any hints are greatly appreciated.

Perform a 'net search for "what do bill mack's artworks sell for". Or check eBay to see asking prices for his pre-owned works - there's a a lot there. Those two blemishes, though, will probably reduce what anyone would pay for it by at least half it's unblemished market value.
