Honestly...for long lasting artwork...you have to choose the type of leaf that has the least amount of acidic content. No evergreen or semi evergreen leaves. Google leaves and their acidity content or levels and find the one with the lowest content but also looks nicest. Remember. Press the type of leaf you choose for at least 3 months for an extra long life. Or you can get a small vase, fill with glycerin and out the leaf in it as if it were a flower (leaf has to be freshly picked from a tree and still green/alive. The glycerin will preserve the leaf as it is. Leave in glycerin for 5 days. Out of direct sunlight but be sure that it still receives light so photosynthesis happens (point is so the sun doesn’t burn and kill of the leaf with direct light but soft natural light encourages the leaf to pull the glycerin inside it and spread it all over within the leaf itself where it crystallizes and preserves the leaf in that exact state from when you picked it (time is a factor of course, quickly put into glycerin after picking).
