I haven't been on much - have had a lot going on. I am forced to get some drawing done and the only way I am going to keep motivated is to come here and see what you guys are doing. My new drawing is very complex and the pictures she gave me are pretty blurry BUT they are the only pictures she has so I am screwed and it's giving me stress and I am pretty frustrated right now. I started - scrapped the original drawing and am on my second sketch. I started it an hour or so ago. GAH! I need to get it done by next week... When I get far enough along that I feel comfortable sharing the drawing I will do it. Just trying to muddle through this one...it's not fun.. Last edited by chanda95; 11-14-2011 at 10:59 PM.

I really admire you for making so much effort at art with all the pressures of job and family. Add the usual challenges of being an atrist, plus the unbelievable pressures of commission work..... wow. Perhaps sometimes the art has to slide a bit. At your age it can wait... I've given this same talk to my daughter. Best of luck with it all! Last edited by DonH; 11-16-2011 at 01:00 AM.

Thanks Don. You are right of course. I seriously took too much on and look forward to having them done and not having any more commissions. I think I am going to either cut completely back or slow down and just draw for me again.. Here is a small portion of the whole picture. There is a pretty complex portion that is yet to be added. Because the picture was blurry I am forced to ignore technical aspects...that has been difficult for me. This is still in the very beginning stages..

looks great sofar. Looking forward to seeing the finished pic. The enjoyment of being an artist is gone for me when i am forced to finish something to a deadline. I have enough deadlines with my day job. lots of luck but i see you don't need luck.

I like this alot! I love how you incorporated the pine branches and needles. Very nice so far, for sure. I'm waiting in anticipation for the completion. The cat is in the upper left corner, makes me wonder what's up your sleeve. I'm excited. Something in one of your above posts made me think of this quote I heard. I think it went something like this: "If you don't tell the world who you are, it will tell you." Last edited by Sean; 11-21-2011 at 12:20 AM.

Thanks guys - Almost done - just a few little touch ups but for now it's close enough to call almost complete...I am having problems with both of my cameras so the picture sucks big time--it gives an idea though. Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera for Christmas. Last edited by chanda95; 11-25-2011 at 04:21 PM.

Amazing, Chanda! It gives me the chills. What is the story behind the guy on the ground?

Thanks Don! He loved it. His wife commissioned me to do this for his 40th birthday. The lion is one that he killed several years ago. The big picture is of the lion and the one on the bottom is him and the lion. It was a big hit and I am glad they liked it. I worked off pretty grainy photos so it was a tough draw. My current drawing is also from a pretty grainy picture but I promised not to show it until after Christmas..
