Hello forumgoers!


I run an article site that features discourse on current events, contemporary philosophy, political critiques and environmental issues - but with also a good emphasis on beauty and art.


Anyway - I have a writer covering the question of who some of the best, most creative, most talented artists (painters or digital artists) are that not many people know about - or at least who deserve more exposure and recognition.


Can anyone suggest some artists? We have been scouring the net for pics and names - but I would love to hear some feedback from a community of artists who probably know better


I can post the link to the finished article if anyone wants, I just didn't want to post the site up front and be considered a spammer.

There are thousands of artists, out there, and lots of top quality artists right here, every artist has a speciality and it depends on what kind of look you want for your piece. Is it street, political, environmental, there are so many talented people out there and they all specialise in their own field, can you be more specific?

I guess I wanted to reach across all those genres and styles to possibly get some of the really, really great ones. I mean, if I asked you guys specifically about political painters (that actually sounds REALLY cool!), the piece would be a little too focused on that genre. I was just thinking if I say, "Totally genius and chronically underappreciated new artist/painter", then who's the first/second name that comes to mind??

This question is rather sensitive , as you could imagine someone asking who the best writer is on your site.
Peach has it right. Art is so very subjective, depending on the interpretation of the viewer and the times in which they live.. In most cases the artsts we now see as "genius" were ignored or derided in their own time. Vincent Van Gogh is a good example.
Most of us here would probably like to say that we are that artist you are looking for, but are unwilling to say it. This is a kind of community, to single out any certain one in a direct answer to your question would go against a certain unwritten code.
The answer to your question, however could be here, but you will have to do some digging. I submit that the one you are looking for most likely has posted artwork here.
Look through the blogs as we artists comment on each other's work. Again, the conclusions you will draw from even that will be subjective.
Take some time, look at the artwork. You will see vastly different styles, by artists with extreem differences in skills.

I cant tell u how many unknown talent I have came across. Me myself had a bit of trouble getting my airbrush art known. Ive been doing this for only a couple years and its finally paying off.
